EXPLORE OUR NEW VENTURE
Our Energy Recovery System harnesses power that is normally lost, converting heat and kinetic energy into electricity. Storing that electricity in a lithium-ion battery, it passes electric torque to the rear wheels. Giving the Renault Sport Formula One™ Team car a shot of added power, generated from its own exhaust and braking.
With the same daring combination of performance and efficiency, Direct Response Hybrid generates extra power to push our road vehicles even further.

As Managing Director, Cyril ensures all aspects of Renault Sport Racing are structured, resourced and operating to their optimum potential. He also sets the commercial, marketing and communications targets. Having joined Renault in 2001, by 2012 Cyril became the youngest F1 team principal ever.
Nico joins Renault Sport Racing having achieved impressive feats in an already diverse racing career. Before stepping up to F1 in 2010, Nico claimed championship titles in Formula BMW, A1GP and the GP2 Series. He also competed in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship with Porsche, winning Le Mans on his very first attempt.
Jolyon continues his good work with Renault Sport Racing after a solid F1 driving debut in 2016 – claiming his first championship point at Sepang, Malaysia. Moving up from a successful Formula Two and GP2 career, and two seasons as an F1 test driver, Jolyon is also the first British driver to win the GP2 Series since Lewis Hamilton in 2006.
Chief Technical Officer, Bob leads the strategic approach and oversees the output at both the Viry and Enstone sites. With a PhD in aeronautical Engineering and a wealth of experience, over the course of his career he’s helped secure nine Constructors’ Championships and 10 Drivers’ Championships.
As Technical Director, Nick is responsible for the design direction and development of the E21, E22, E23 and R.S.16. Starting his Enstone career in 2000, as Engineering Director from 2011 he was in charge of the planning and delivery of the race-winning E20 and E21, before embracing his current role in 2013.
Team Engine Technical Director, Rémi runs the Renault power unit developed at the Viry site, ensuring his team of engineers produce an optimised unit. Having joined Renault Sport in 1999, he’s succeeded in a number of roles, including working closely with two F1 World Champions – Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso.
